Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure – Solutions Design

The Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure are a governmental department of the province of British Columbia, in Canada. In addition to the safety of the transport system across British Columbia, the Ministry is also responsible for the safety of over 4000 bridges across the province.

Project: Creation and Development of Traqsit Web and Mobile Application

The Ministry,  responsible for the safety of the bridges in the province, enforces speed and other restrictions to many big haulers moving across those bridges. Up to this point the process of enforcing any restriction from the ministry and a hauler driver was reliant on mutual trust but in most cases these restrictions had been violated. They didn’t know what they could do to resolve this or what they were looking for in particular, they just wanted to find a solution to take the problem away. In response, we created, designed and built Traqsit – a mobile and web based application designed to track live location and speed of haulers across British Columbia.

Key Services Offered:

  • Consultancy and Strategy
  • Bespoke Mobile Application Development
  • Full Stack Web Development

Outcome:

Created an automated and trusted mobile and web app to resolve the problem successfully. Amongst the features of the app, it raised alerts when any of the restrictions are violated, kept track of haulers travel history as well as kept track of the haulers movements across each and every bridge within the BC region. This is currently being beta tested in the British Columbia region with a view to it rolling out across the country.
